    @ssuet@2013

    “suppress” means put an end to something by force.
    So EIGRP is the correct answer. because this is an Cisco Exam and EIGRP is Cisco Systems proprietary protocol :)

    @Ahmed
    If it is exactly the same as EIGRP lab here, answer B is correct.
    How do you know your answer as “B” was wrong? In the real exam, you don’t see the answers.

    WTF is the answer of this question

    which protocol suppresses the incomming and outgoing routing advertisement in the routing table when pasive interface is configured on the interface..

    BGP
    RIPv2
    OSPF
    EIGRP

    WTF is answer to this question …any one please ???????

    Question 2

    Check the serial links connected to R3. Which statements are correct?
    A. The neighbor command must be used on R1-R3 link to keep the adjacency up
    B. The OSPF timer values of R2-R3 link are 30, 120, 120
    C. The OSPF timer values of R1-R3 link should be 10,40,40
    D. R3 must flood LSUs to all the routers on the network.

    when I check show int s1/0 and s1/1 i got the following:

    The OSPF timer values of R1-R3 link were 30, 120, 120
    The OSPF timer values of R2-R3 link were be 10,40,40

    WTF should i answer this ????

    I answer B. The OSPF timer values of R2-R3 link are 30, 120, 120 as per this website…tell me should i did right ?

    4 Drag and Drop FYI: UNdwICAST,ACL, AAA, AAA commands ,AAA features.
    Labs: eigrp case, route-map REDISTRUIBUTE , OSPF case

    There were so many questions of IP SLA and AAA which are NOT on this website.

    @Nik how come answer is B
    Answer B is B. The OSPF timer values of R2-R3 link are 30, 120, 120.

    But when you check in real lab it was comming 10,40,40. read my post again.

    But still I click on Answer B

    @anonymous the correct answer to OSPF eval sim depends upon what exactly is represented in the output to the command in the architecture that is shown and your understanding. Its so very easy to change simple config and have the responses change.

    To assist, what was the OSPF network types on the serial interfaces present on R3? a sh ip ospf int sx/x will identify the network type. broadcast and pop interfaces should have timers of 10, 40, 40 and those that are NBMA should be 30, 120, 120. Typically one interface is NMBA and one interface is PTP. The right answer depends upon the understanding of the network types.

    Also, the answer to the neighbour command being required is dependent on the network types as well and if you actually have an adjacency present. sh ip ospf neigh should help to inform you if their is an adjacency present or not.

    Is R3 the ABR and is it a DR for all area’s and responsible for flooding?

    The answer to the question changes at times it is not a static sim but dependent upon understanding.

    With regards to the IP SLA and AAA questions are you referring to the August pdf that the questions are not listed or just the questions down the right hand side of the page?

    @ahmed

    WTF is the answer of this question
    which protocol suppresses the incomming and outgoing routing advertisement in the routing table when pasive interface is configured on the interface..
    BGP
    RIPv2
    OSPF
    EIGRP

    I’m not sure I’d be interested in views.

    Ripv2 passive-interface stops sending multicast updates but does not stop receiving multicast updates.

    EIGRP and OSPF passive interface stops sending multicast hellos hence stopping creating of adjacencies with neighbours meaning that there are no incoming/outgoing routing updates.

    Passed– With a very very close margin.

    9-10 New questions. NUQ5 NUQ6 MPQ is valid but not enough to pass. You have to study every topic in digitaltut with their respective questionss.

    3 D&D valid.

    Labs
    PBR (ip change)
    Redistribution (IP change)
    OSPF ( question 2 is change now right choice is we have to use neighbor command to keep adjacency up)

    Digitaltut membership worth every penny.

    OFF to switch now.

    September 16th, 2019

    @Route-quest

    sh ip ospf database

    Type 4 LSA are ABR created due to an ASBR being in the area or more to the point the area being defined as a NSSA. When an area is NSSA the ABR send a type 1 LSA into the adjacent area with the p bit set. The next ABR then turn that into a Type 7 LSA. Or more to the point the NSSA area ABR is a pseduo ASBR. The question is poor but th answer depnds upon which aea you look at to depend if you get a type 4. If you look at the area between R3/4 (sorry can not remember the number) you will see a Type 4 present that is the result of the NSSA area.Typically on the question that is provided the actual answer is that one area is a NSSA and hence by definition has no type 4 lsa. The other is a Totally Stubby area which has no type 3 or 4. Of course if you have no type 4 there is no need for a type 5 either. So technically the question is incorrect and there is no type 4. The answer given is relaly the type 3 from router 3 to router 4 age from sh ip ospf database.

    Hope that helps.

    Check the serial links connected to R3. Which statements are correct?
    A. The neighbor command must be used on R1-R3 link to keep the adjacency up
    B. The OSPF timer values of R2-R3 link are 30, 120, 120
    C. The OSPF timer values of R1-R3 link should be 10,40,40
    D. R3 must flood LSUs to all the routers on the network.
    we
    when I check show int s1/0 and s1/1 i got the following:

    The OSPF timer values of R1-R3 link were 30, 120, 120
    The OSPF timer values of R2-R3 link were be 10,40,40

    Looking at he result of show int s1/0 and s1/1. : these are my main points :

    -Obviously the question is not the same as Digitaltut .

    -I would run “show ip ospf neighbor on R3 or R1 ” showing neighbor A is not ture . not showing neighbor A might be the one.

    -checking the status of both “R1-R3” – “R2-R3″…

    The OSPF timer values of R2-R3 link were be 10,40,40 …this result exclude answer C.

    The OSPF timer values of R1-R3 link were 30, 120, 120…this is result examines answer B .

    B can’t be true unless R1-R3 link was point-to-point/Broadcast . IF R1-R3 was NBMA that will mean B is wrong.

    Which will only leaves A.

    one more thing is to notice the “S” at statements >>If R1-R3 was p2p/Broadcast that means we have two winners “A and B”.

    I didn’t take the test yet . can’t tell if selecting more than one statement is an option .

  25. Nik
    September 17th, 2019

    @George and Ahmed

    What is wrong with answer B?
    When you do show ip ospf interfaces and check connections to R3 and see the below values that mean B is th correct answer.

    Serial1/0 is up, line protocol is up
    Internet Address 192.168.23.3/24, Area 0
    Process ID 1, Router ID 3.3.3.3, Network Type NON_BROADCAST, Cost: 64
    Transmit Delay is 1 sec, State WAITING, Priority 1
    No designated router on this network
    No backup designated router on this network
    Timer intervals configured, Hello 30, Dead 120, Wait 120, Retransmit 5

    Also when a connection between 2 routers is a point to point and the OSPF defined as point to point, it has to be NON_BROADCAST. It cannot be broadcast. Your below comment is wrong :
    “B can’t be true unless R1-R3 link was point-to-point/Broadcast “

    September 17th, 2019

    @Nik
    OSPF point to point links are of type “Point to Point” and not non-broadcast. On a point to point there is no DR/BDR elected because by definition there are only 2 end points and there is inherent connectivity. The Hellos are still sent and their is still an OSPF adjacency created and the state will be Full/ -. The multicast used between the 2 points is 224.0.0.5.

    So point to Points are still broadcast.

    Easiest answer to check is to build the lab and have a look with Wireshark.

    What is wrong with answer B?
    When you do show ip ospf interfaces and check connections to R3 and see the below values that mean B is th correct answer.

    Serial1/0 is up, line protocol is up

    “B can’t be true unless R1-R3 link was point-to-point/Broadcast “

    @Nik

    We are discussing Ahmed Exam version not Digital version:

    on Ahmed Exam version : answer B is about R2-R3 not R1-R3.

    When he ran show int >>> he found R2-R3 timers were 10 40 40 . which doesn’t meet option B .

    ########################################

    Ahmed Exam Version

    #############################################

    ########################################################

    Please be careful , there is 3 versions of this question at Cisco pool to my knowledge.

    Digitaltut only has one case . which is the one you were referring to .

    I hope this was informative and helpful.

    Good Luck .
