    NEW CCNP ROUTE Q

BGP load balancing – how many path use by default?

PC-A to PC-B topology with multiple switches/routers in between, each link with different MTU values. Question was what to implement in order to have PC-A to PC-B reachability, I chose PMTUD

    B. Traps are more reliable than Informs because they generate PDU s from the network Manager
    C. Only Informs are discarded after delivery
    D. Only traps are discarded after delivery
    E. Informs are more reliable than Traps because they require TCP three-way handshake.
    Suggested answer A,D https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/snmp/configuration/12-4t/snmp-12-4t-book/nm-snmp-cfg-snmp-support.html

A network engineer wants to notify a manager in the events that the IP SLA connection loss threshold reached. Which two feature are need to implements this functionality? (choose two)
    A. MOS
    B. Threshold action
    C. Cisco IOS EEM

3-When does a Cisco router send an ICMP redirect?(take care here ingress and egress interface are different not as the dump)
    A. when the source and destination in the same subnet
    B. when the packet is source-routed
    C. when the packet`s destination has load-balanced entries in the route table
    D. when the packet`s ingress and egress interface are different

A cf Cisco routers send ICMP redirects when all of these conditions are met:

The interface on which the packet comes into the router is the same interface on which the packet gets routed out.

The subnet or network of the source IP address is on the same subnet or network of the next-hop IP address of the routed packet.

    The datagram is not source-routed.

The kernel is configured to send redirects. (By default, Cisco routers send ICMP redirects. The interface subcommand no ip redirects can be used to disable ICMP redirects.)

    3. Another question was which protocol sort out of order packet at the receiving end. Obviously TCP.

A router in an EVN environment is choosing a route. Which value is given the highest selection priority ?

Guys, can someone confirm is below questions (updated today under New Updated Questions Part 6 section) are the ones which everyone called ‘new’?

    Question 11

    Drag and Drop

TLL – when reaches ‘0’ drops packets
ICMP Redirect – indicate to host that another route is available for a specific destination
ICMP unreachable – when destination is unreachable when IP is unable to give a packet to destination host due to some problem or issue
    ? – ?
    ? – ?

    Question 12

How to implement local authentication using a list for case insensitive usernames?

    A. aaa authentication login default local
    B. aaa authentication login default local-case

    Answer: A

    Question 13 (incomplete question)

    Drag drop about NHRP.

+ ip nhrp shortcut – configured on the spoke which is responsible to rewrite the CEF entry after getting the redirect message from hub
    + ip nhrp network-id – (?)
    + ip nhrp map – (?)
+ ip redirects – are disabled by default on a tunnel interface
+ ip nhrp responder – Specifies which interface the Next Hop Server uses for the NHRP responder IP address
+ ip nhrp nhs – Statically configures a Next Hop Server

Two left choices (at the right-side column) are:
+ Enables NHRP shortcut switching on the interface
+ designates router XXX as the Next-hop server

But they cannot be matched with two rest options on the left.

    Question 14

one more last question. Did u use the metric-type 1 in the Redistribution Lab?

  12. Saji
    May 21st, 2019

    @Peter,

    For Q10 -> PMTUD
TCP MSS takes care of fragmentation at the two endpoints of a TCP connection, but it does not handle the case where there is a smaller MTU link in the middle between these two endpoints. PMTUD was developed in order to avoid fragmentation in the path between the endpoints. It is used to dynamically determine the lowest MTU along the path from a packet’s source to its destination.

Note: PMTUD is only supported by TCP and UDP. Other protocols do not support it. If PMTUD is enabled on a host, and it almost always is, all TCP and UDP packets from the host will have the DF bit set.

    @Gareth @Peter, I remember these 2 came out.

When does a Cisco router send an ICMP redirect?(take care here ingress and egress interface are different not as the dump)
    A. when the source and destination in the same subnet
    B. when the packet is source-routed
    C. when the packet`s destination has load-balanced entries in the route table
    D. when the packet`s ingress and egress interface are different.

I think regarding to this question, we can all check this :::::::::

    When Are ICMP Redirects Sent?

Cisco routers send ICMP redirects when all of these conditions are met:

The interface on which the packet comes into the router is the same interface on which the packet gets routed out.

The subnet or network of the source IP address is on the same subnet or network of the next-hop IP address of the routed packet.

    The datagram is not source-routed.

The kernel is configured to send redirects. (By default, Cisco routers send ICMP redirects. The interface subcommand no ip redirects can be used to disable ICMP redirects.)

IP Operations (proxyARP, Fragmentation, TTL, ICMP redirect, ..)

TLL – when reaches ‘0’ drops packets
ICMP Redirect – indicate to host that another route is available for a specific destination

Why do we need to find answer for Ip Operations D&D?

This D&D is today the easiest D&D:

TLL – when reaches ‘0’ drops packets
ICMP Redirect – indicate to host that another route is available for a specific destination
ICMP unreachable – when destination is unreachable when IP is unable to give a packet to destination host due to some problem or issue
Fragmentation – (there was an answer about too big packets)
ProxyARP – (there was one answer with word proxy in it)

Guys, already passed an exam. Do not worry, everything to pass is here. My score was 897 points. Do not know where exactly lost the rest of points but every question is on digitaltut. I have not seen any new question out of digutaltut so maybe some answers here are just wrong. However, no worries – it is still enough to pass.

LABs: PBR, OSPF Sim, OSPF/EIGPR redistribution.
    D&D: everything is here
Questions: everything is here, maybe some questions has wrong answers

    Good luck!!!

@genius, not really. MPQ,NP5,NPQ6, LABs and old ROUTE 300-101 questions under premium member part. There is a list of quizzes which you would need to check too. I think that MPQ,NP5,NPQ6 is ~70-80% and the rest are from 300-101 section

I passed the exam with an great score, as Peter already told us – study this greatful page including the premium section and you have enough knowledge to pass the exam.

Don’t believe comments from the other guys which offer alternativ sites or dumps with wrong answers.

Thx to digitaltut for this fantastic site.

Guys i passed the exam with score of 84.
TYVM!!!! everyone who contributed here in the comment section as well as digitaltut.
so many people cant remember their username just back read.

    LAB
    OSPF/EIGRP Redistribution
    PBR
    OSPF evaluation

Their was some couple of questions that are worded differently so im quite confused at first but if you really study here that wont be a issue.
Also their was at least 4-6 questions (glean something. Im so nervous cant remember them) that i’m really not sure of my answer but if you study everything here not a big deal. Just make sure to perfect the lab.

LAB TIPS ? nothing really just follow digitut instruction don’t question it and you will be fine.

    I studied
MCQ,NPQ5,NPQ6,Lab and all section under 300-101. No need for any external dumps everything is here.

I recommend to use premium they have this flash base quizzes that helps big time i think it was critical for my passing.

    My other reference material

    CBT nuggets ccnp by Jeremy
    and real world experience.
