Share your ROUTE v2.0 Experience

I Passed Route exam on Friday with score 901.
I studied official guide for Route exam (it does not cover exam syllabus)and documents from Cisco.I took membership to digital tut. I studied composite quizzes, MPQs, NUQs.
I had EIGRP OSPF redistribution (case 2) and PBR for lab – all straight forward – diagrams were clear
Simlet – EIGRP eval

I had 5 or 6 new questions.
1. BGP load balancing – how many path use by default?
2. The key word when the tracking state up
options are
1. or (correct answer)
2. and
3. –
4.- –
when the tracking state is up the return code is ok or over threshold

2. another new question from ipv6
Drag drop – ACL / stric mode / don’t remember the rest
Don’t panic about new questions. If you study this site you are ready to go.

Passed this week with 800s
Everything valid on digitaltut(paid version) but I would suggest reading nnetttworkking or any other old dump as there were a few old Q’s in there, not enough for a fail.
Also some new Q’s but again not enough for a fail as long as you know your stuff.

Redistribute case 2 and ospf eval (exactly the same as on here)

There are some new questions which I can’t recall. but there’s a lot of DnD (NPT, NAT)

Lab was the EIGRP REDISTRIBUTION and PBR, OSPF EVAL.

Passed, but beware lots of new questions – around 20.
Id say 10 recycled old questions with different wording.
And 10 brand new NSB questions.
I also got one new NSB D&D.
You really need to know all old questions and concepts regarding EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.

Labs are still valid, got:

PBR
OSPF evaluation simulation

@yScooty – I am sorry to hear that. I would suggest that you study all the DnD , I mean all-that are on the premium membership file. There are around 757 questions – including DnD . Remember old questions are also being brought back. I wish you best of luck.

Labs :

1. OSPF Evaluation (be careful, R3 interfaces in topology different from actual configuration, pay attention to IP addressing. Also, timers on R2-R3 link are 10,40,40);
2. EIGRP Redistribuiton case 2 (FastEthernet link between R2-R3);
3. PBR
– “tab” and “?” work in case you forgot commands
– copy running-config startup-config or write memory don’t work, but are not needed

DnD :

1. Drag drop about AAA with Auth-Proxy/Commands/Connection/Exec/Network/Resources (the one in NUQ-Part5)
2. Authentication/Accounting/Authorization
3. SVC/LMI/DLCI/FECN/PVC
4. Totally new DnD with TTL, ICMP REDIRECTS, ICMP UNREACHABLE and 2 others. Very intuitive answers, it’s a really easy question so don’t worry
5. CoPP/MPP
6. IPv6 Traffic Filter/Access Class

About 5 or 6 new questions :
1. PC-A to PC-B topology with multiple switches/routers in between, each link with different MTU values. Question was what to implement in order to have PC-A to PC-B reachability, I chose PMTUD
2. One which asked how to implement local authentication using a list for case-insensitive usernames or something like that

Most of the questions are still from MPQ and NUQ-Part5 from the premium section.

Premium account is a must.

5-6 new questions and a lot of old ones, not included in MPP and NUQ5. Beware that the IPs in the SIMs are different and some of the questions also look differently.

Just MPP and NUQ5 is not enough to pass the exam. You should learn all the questions !

Just passed my exam, I accidentally skipped a full SIM (OSPF AREA from here which I knew inside out ) on my 3rd question in. I went and reported it and they said they would send a report to CISCO. It really bugged me through the rest of the exam cause I knew how much points it was worth. LUCKILY!! I still passed with 814 as almost every question came up from here. I Even got the Simlet asking about the LSA type 4 age (which doesn’t actually exist as explained on the sims answers – why Cisco have not fixed this I will never know as it could waste so much time for those who aren’t aware of the mistake).

I studied all questions from here, not just the MPQ and NAQ so I don’t really know where the majority of the questions came from but I Litterally recognised 95% (if not more) of them.

My method used after months of studying was to go through every one of these question and if I couldn’t answer it then I studied that topic to find out more. It’s not possible to memorise everything but IMO you learn so much more from going over these questions.

I should be happy I passed but Its a bittersweet feeling because I missed that SIM and my score could have been about 80-100 points higher.

On to SWITCH!!

There are new questions:
1. About connections between client and server: if the first one pulls server or broadcast or multicast
2. Command in DMVPN to see statistics in active tunnels (I suppose ipsec)
3. default athentication list with an insensitive case username
4. how to disable slit horizon in ripng
5. issues to raise a bgp session with missing hello keepalives
