I disagree with the DOS attacks answer for the TTL question.

In fact, the official cert guide for CCNP route uses this for the definition of TTL
Time to Live (TTL) field: The Time to Live (TTL) field is an 8-bit field that is decremented
by 1 every time the packet is routed from one IP network to another (that is, passes through a router). If the TTL value ever reaches 0, the packet is discarded
from the network. This behavior helps prevent routing loops.

Thats the OCG from 2015, I’m trying to see if its in the OCG for ccnp 300-115 v2.0 which may be more recent. I dont think the definition would have changed between the two.

passed my CCNP Route (911/1000) at 20th september and i have to say few things:

-I was my most difficult exam in my entire Cisco journey, some qestions are debatable and some qestions are with two possible answers but only one option to choose. Its like they unfairly require to some percentage of people to fail. It is also crazy how much stuff they are expecting from you at once.

-It took me approx. year to prepare alongside with day by day work: bought real world Cisco equipment combine it with GNS3 and create arround 70 different labs/scenarios, arroung 90 lessons from CBT nuggets (CCNA security, CCNP Route old + new), than other sources like pdf CCNP books additional valid YT videos. Despite all this without dumps it is still impossible to pass exam! You can throw 350Euros what they are charging straight to recycle bin and dont even try. Maybe they want only higher inteligent beings to be able to pass, for average IT IQ 125 people forget it… I would never be satisfyed with myself to pass exam by using QA but this time i could not not go without it.

-Cisco is pushing IPv6 even though just about 99% of current networks which i experience are still IPv4. They can rename this exam to IPv6 and random IT stuff (so they can charge another 350eur for their new exam tree). This exam is forcing people to become proffesional clowns which know little bit of everything but nothing really well. Why they require so much for one exam i dont know. It take one month to forget 80% from exam not mentioning i have another 5 Cisco certifications and it is driving me crazy when i imagine that i have keep all this stuff in my head (for employers which are expecting it from you and of course – QA are not going to SAVE YOU THERE)

Passed my exam with 9xx, i got a lab i haven’t seen on this site but it was to do with creating ipv4 virtual-links similar to the ipv6 one but with an added twist that Inter-area and External routes had to be blocked.

however if you study the material on this site – dnd, 195qs networking, all labs ( know why you are putting the commands in ) you will be ok.

I had OSPF-EIGRP redis ( changed ip addresses and areas ) , ipv4 virtual link lab, eigrp stub

i had a lot of dnds but nothing i hadn’t seen before
