I am inclined to say 802.1q for two reasons.

EVN runs on trunks, trunks require 802.1q which is an encapsulation technology and is the industry standard.

Second, see from this article:

Restrictions for EVN
An EVN trunk is allowed on any interface that supports 802.1q encapsulation, such as Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and port channels.
There are additional platform and line-card restrictions for an EVN trunk. Check Cisco Feature Navigator, http://www.cisco.com/​go/​cfn for supported platforms and line cards.
A single IP infrastructure can be virtualized to provide up to 32 virtual networks end-to-end.
If an EVN trunk is configured on an interface, you cannot configure VRF-Lite on the same interface.
OSPFv3 is not supported; OSPFv2 is supported.
The following are not supported by EVN:
IS-IS
RIP
Route replication is not supported with BGP
Certain SNMP set operations
The following are not supported on an EVN trunk:

DNDs and all questions came from 195 valid-sept section. I read all 757 questions since wanted to be safe and cert was expiring tomorrow but you should be able to pass with 195 question.

Hey guys, I just passed the exam 900. All the questions within the digitaltut & 195q networking. I got da following labs Eigrp stub, redistribution, virtual-link.
It’s very easy & simple, I had a couple of question that I wasn’t sure coz there are different answers in digitaltut & 195q, but wouldn’t effect that much. I think i finished da exam with an hour. There were no new questions at all. I wish u guys a good luck.

passed the test today – what a relief! nneettwwoorrkkiinngg’s 195q are accurate – all of my questions came from that set.

DNDs were Frame Relay LMI, AAA authentication, GRE feature, and uRPF.

Labs were EIGRP Stub, OSPF Stub and Redistribution.

I passed ROUTE today as well. I’m so relieved. I have to say the SPOTO stuff I found on this site were very helpful. Not sure how that compares to the neeeettttwwwwooorkkiinngg one though.

There are a few discrepancies on SPOTO and I listed them here earlier.

I got the OSPF Sim, EIGRP Stub and IPv6 OSPF Virtual link labs.

It doesn’t seem like the PBR lab is in the rotation these days.
