    Question: 440

Which option is one of the effects entering this command on a Cisco IOS router, with no additional logging configuration?

    A. Debug messages can be seen on the console by enabling “terminal monitor.”
    B. Debug messages are logged only on active console connections.
    C. A user that is connected via SSH sees level 7 messages
    D. The router can experience high CPU utilization

originally this is B, but there was some discussion about D some pages ago

    what do u think?

@jazzy – im just confused as in the pbr lab in this site, command was excluded in the answers compared to your lab. Im just being extra careful!
@marcus- exactly! Did you take the exam? Did you skip that command?

  8. TheSilentLamb
    May 6th, 2018

    @rrr

    The command loggin console 7.
Increases the CPU, beacuse the routers logs every console message by default. So if you put it a a level 7 instead of 5 it will caus high cpu

  9. Bengt
    May 7th, 2018

    regarding 440 and logging.
Default console logging level on IOS routers and switches is already 7 (debugging), so the command “logging console 7” will not change default and will not create condition for CPU utilization increase.
    Refer to https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960/software/release/12-2_55_se/configuration/guide/scg_2960/swlog.html#41240
    B) seems to be most relevant answer because user would need to enter “term mon” on SSH connection to see replicas of console messages.

    @Bengt
    A)Console logging:

The router does not check if a user is logged into the console port or a device is attached to it; if console logging is enabled, messages are always sent to the console port that can cause CPU load.

To stop the console logging, use the “no logging console” global configuration command .you might want to limit the amount of messages sent to the console with the “logging console level” configuration command (for example, logging console Informational).
    source: https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/network-infrastructure-documents/how-to-configure-logging-in-cisco-ios/ta-p/3132434

Also in your document says “Logging messages to the console at a high rate can cause high CPU utilization and adversely affect how the switch operates.”
By default the severity level is 5 (informational) no 7 (Debug)

Hi Guys, can you pleas check on this if this is correct.

    Question: 93
In which scenario can asymmetric routing occur?
    A. active/active firewall setup
    B. single path in and out of the network.
    C. active/standby firewall setup.
    D. redundant routers running VRRP.
    Answer: D

    May 7th, 2018

@Tipsy, not yet, but I will take it VERY soon!

@rrr, about console logging question. You could try issue this command:
show run all | i console

In the output, you can see next line:
    logging console debugging

So, it’s enabled by default, as @Bengt mentioned above. If you will type it command again nothing happens. I guess “B” is the best answer for this question.

@NP, yes, I think D is correct. See my comment in “Misc Section” on this site for explanation.

    @TheSilentLamb
IOS routers/switches have default *debug* logging level on console. I think it was the case for at least 15 recent years.
You may want to check any real router/switch or refer to Table 1-2 Default System Message Logging Configuration at https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960/software/release/12-2_55_se/configuration/guide/scg_2960/swlog.html#41240

A network engineer enables OSPF on a frame relay wan conneciton to various remote sites, but no ospf adjacencies come up. Which two actions are possible solution to this issue?

    A. Change the network type to point-to-multipoint under WAN interface
    B. Enable virtual links
    C. Change the network type to nonbroadcast multipoint access
    D. Configure the neighbor command under OSPF for each remote site

In which scenario can asymmetric routing occur?

    A. active/active firewall setup
    B. single path in and out of the network.
    C. active/standby firewall setup
    D. redundant routers running VRRP

Answer is D 100% see below

Asymmetric Routing Support in Active Active Mode

In general, avoid asymmetric routing in a firewall design solution. The ASR feature is purely to protect issues such as link failovers. Note that even though state is shared between the Active and Standby firewalls periodically, it is possible to have race conditions, which could cause connections to be dropped.

Active/Active failover with ASR is a design advantage for parallel paths across firewalls with the same security rule sets. Care should be taken for Active/Active redundancy and the Layer 3 network symmetry. This depends on each environment, and limitations may arise based on individual scenarios.

    Today I passed with 88x

My study plan was the following:
I Read the Cisco Press Book
I copied in a notebook, a summary of every chapter
I watched all possible videos (twice): Chris Bryant CCNP, CBT Nuggets, CBT Nuggets Practice labs
I made a lab of every example of the book: CCNP Route 6.0 Studen LAB Manual
I used a DUMP called 300-101 557q pass leader (a friend sent it to me , and I posted here in page 118-119 aprox). From that dump I read all the question verify every answer (including labs, DnD. Dump was mostly good)
I used Prince 91q (very useful but have some wrong questions like two or three)

    On the Test: ive got
    EIGRP SIMLET,
    PBR LAB
    EIGRP STUB LAB

DnD: DHCP, adverse network conditions, AAA, LMI frame relay

    No new questions

@Banana, see page 106, but this dump doesn’t include all possible questions, I guarantee it.

@TheSilentLamb, congrats! You’re so lucky you didn’t meet any new questions. =)

    @Someone17, as I said before:
“I guess answer is D. A firewall is not the REASON for asymmetric routing itself. Yes, we can have a issue with firewall and asymmetric routing, but the question asks about the ASR occuring, NOT about problems with ASR and firewall. ASR can occur with redundancy paths and load balancing. See Official Cert Guide, Chapter 1. So, I think, best answer is D (about VRRP).”

“One of the new questions is about NetFlow 9.

    d) smth ingress (smth –> I forgot the exact wording, so “smth”)
    e) smth ingress
    f) both “smth” ingress and “smth” egress

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Another question was about VRF.

there were two static VRF routes. and the question is.. what you will see if you do “show ip route”. NOTE here… “show ip route”, NOT “show ip route vrf”, so the table was empty with “the default gateway is not set”.
