@SKY, in the OSPF Evaluation SIMLET, do the commands work find so basically
    1) show ip ospf database
    2) show ip ospf interface serial 1/0
Are there any commands that are not working?

Passed recently all questions are in this vce: 300-101-ROUTEv1.5 (updated by procyber 01.11.2017).vce

DnD also included with this vce and there are new questions that ARE on the exam. EIGRP and OSPF simlets, PBR, EIGRP-OSPF redistribution, and OSPF sims all on exam.

Other than a working EIGRP configuration, which option must be the same on all routers for EIGRP authentication key role over to work correctly?

    A. SMTP
    B. SNMP
    C. Passwords
    D. Time

At the moment, I see two answers, C & D.

Can anybody confirm. Procyber says D

    @CCNP_ALMOST
Yes both the commands working. As I remember #show ip ospf int br is not also working. Others such as #show ip ospf were working fine. But show cdp neigh was working as well as mentioned previously in the forum, but the port numbers differs from the diagrm. Where I got confused. Hence I stick with the port numbers as in the diagram.

    @Lee
I am not sure how much marks the simlet carry. The MCQ all are from Procyber v1.5 vce + the new questions shared here

    @Adou
Use GNS3 to open them. Also I had attached the corresponding IOS for them. Recommend to use the latest GNS3

@Sky, thank you so much for your input. One more thing, in the EIGRP EVAL SIM, how do you find out the IP ADDRESS of Loopback without using SHOW IP INT BRIEF? Is it indicated in the TOPOLOGY ITSELF, so no need to perform IP LOOKUP on target router? Or is there another command we can USE?

I think show running-config will work on this lab and then I will be able to see what the LOOPBACK address is? Is this correct?

  17. Kenneth
    November 16th, 2017

    @Switch_ROUTE
I think sh ip int br will show you the loopback address.

  18. Switch_ROUTE
    November 16th, 2017

@Kenneth, yes it definitely will but what I am saying is that there is a possibility that this command is not working during the EXAM, so that is why I am looking for an alternative and show running-config will work. It has been stated that show-running config working in some places and not others.

what should we do if the link between R2====>3 comes with serial or gig interface then should we apply the same command distance eigrp 90 100 in R2?
please any help Im going to give my exam within 3 days

  31. Ada

    Hi Everyone,
I usually don’t ask questions and doing my own research but this is really bothering my brain since yesterday. I think the answer to the below question is incorrect in the “It’s me V1.5” . please dont get confused and only answer me if you think I am incorrect so I can understand.

In which scenario can asymmetric routing occur?
    A. Active/Active firewall setup
    B. single path in and out of the network
    C. Active/standby firewall setup
    D. redundant routers running VRRP

the answer in VCE is A———— But I don’t think it is correct I think D is the correct answer. because on the Cisco official cert guide on page 27. I will copy the complete explanation.

    (sorry cant copy the diagram)

    Asymmetric Routing

Many times, routing operations are impacted by Layer 2 switching in a network. As an
example, consider a situation, as depicted in Figure 1-21 , where a VLAN is spread across
multiple access layer switches, and a First-Hop Redundancy Protocol (FHRP) (for example,
HSRP, VRRP, or GLBP) is being used on multilayer switches at the distribution layer.

In the figure, notice that VLAN 100 (that is, 10.1.1.0 /24) exists on both switches ASW1
and ASW2 at the access layer. Also, notice that there are two multilayer switches (that
is, DSW1 and DSW2) at the distribution layer with an HSRP configuration to provide
default gateway redundancy to hosts in VLAN 100. The multilayer switch in the core
layer (that is, CSW1) supports equal-cost load balancing between DSW1 and DSW2.

Focusing on the HSRP configuration, imagine that DSW1 is the active HSRP “router”
and DSW2 is the standby HSRP “router.” Next, imagine that PC1 sends traffic out to the
Internet. The traffic flows through ASW1, DSW1 (the active HSRP router), and CSW1, as
    shown in Figure 1-22 .

A challenge with this common scenario can occur with the return traffic, as illustrated in
Figure 1-23 . The return traffic flows from the Internet and into CSW1, which then load balances between DSW1 and DSW2. When the path through DSW1 is used, the MAC
address of PC1 is known to DSW1’s ARP cache (because it just saw PC1’s MAC address
being used as the source MAC address in a packet going out to the Internet). However,
when the path through DSW2 is used, DSW2 might not have PC1’s MAC address in its
ARP cache (because PC1 isn’t normally using DSW2 as its default gateway). As a result,
DSW2 floods this unknown unicast traffic out all its other ports. This issue is known as asymmetric routing because traffic might leave through one path (for example, through
DSW1) and return through a different path (for example, through DSW2). Another name
given to this issue is unicast flooding, because of the potential for a backup FHRP router
or multilayer switch to flood unknown unicast traffic for returning traffic.

Cisco recommends that you do not span a VLAN across more than one access layer
switch to avoid such an issue. However, if a particular design requires the spanning of
a VLAN across multiple access layer switches, the best-practice recommendation from
Cisco is that you adjust the FHRP device’s ARP timer to be equal to or less than the
Content Addressable Memory (CAM) aging time. Otherwise, the CAM table entry for
the end station will time out before the ARP entry times out, meaning that the FHRP
device knows (from its ARP cache) the MAC address corresponding to the destination IP
address, and therefore does not need to ARP for the MAC address. However, if the CAM entry has timed out, the FHRP device needs to flood the traffic to make sure that it gets
to the intended destination. With an ARP timer equal to or less than the CAM aging
time, there will never be an ARP entry for a MAC address not also stored in the CAM
table. As a result, if the FHRP device’s ARP entry has timed out, it will use ARP to get
the MAC address of the destination IP address, thus causing the CAM table to learn the
    appropriate egress port.

so with all these explanations Can someone tell me if I am wrong and why ? please.

@John-Ahna, in reply to your question “what should we do if the link between R2====>3 comes with serial or gig interface then should we apply the same command distance eigrp 90 100 in R2?”
    Answer,
The command “distance eigrp 90 100” changes the Metric for internal and external eigrp routes i.e 90 internal and 100 is external redistributed routes in this case. And the reason you do is because the question is saying use the most optimal route which is R1-R2-R3 if the link b/w R2 and R3 is either Fasteth or GigEthernet. But if the link b/w R2 and R3 is Serial link, then R1-R2-R3 is NOT the optimal route so you don’t configure that command “distance 90 100”
why? because EIGRP uses BW , Delay etc to calculate the metric, so Serial link BW is 1544 kbps and FaEthernet is 100 Mbps or 100000 kbps, and GigEthernet is 1Gbps or 1000000 kbps.
Note: question comes mostly in two forms, either the link is Serial or Fasethernet
    summary :

if the link between R2-R3 is serial you don’t configure the command “distance 90 100”
if the link between R2-R3 is Fastethernet, you configure the command “distance 90 100 or 105” anything less than 110 (because 110 is the OSPF), but by configuring this command, you are effectively telling R2 not to use the OSPF route, but instead use the EIGRP route which was redistributed by R3.

long mumbling but I hope it clarifies your doubts.
