BSCI Training with Real Questions & Answers!

Westwood 03-30-2009 The exam is timed very very hard. You cannot squat on a question or a sim. You are hardly given enough time to even read the questions. Watch the "on purpose" missing configurations within the sims - especially the virtual link from hell sim. You must know how to type in a ipv6 address and then ping if you want to be certain that you are correct in how you've engineered things. Lots and lots of detailed factual questions. I failed today but I'll be back soon know that I know what I need to do. Also, the EIGRP sim wheras you have to know what is going to be in the routing table.....study hard because the ip addresses were all different. k2s 03-31-2009 at last I m done wid BSCI...today...got 966....there were 3-4 conceptual Qs from multicast..2 Qs from BGP....& almost all r from Pass4sure 3.10v... thanx for material......esp..labs....it was very useful....for tht one ipv6 ospf...i postponed by 1 week...by seeing website...i took a deep breath... hope u develop the kinda site for BCMSN...may b I can share...some useful material from myside....

certastic 04-07-2009 Passed! 966/1000 I kept an eye out for question that were not in p4s 3.10 questions but I didn't notice ANY. I got the OSPF V3 virtual link simulation, EIGRP stub simulation and OSPf totally stubby simlet. I took this test on 3/25 and got a 711/1000. At that time I had read the BSCI cisco press book 3 times and was aceing all of the practice exams that come with it. After I failed I switched to Pass4Sure tests and 2 weeks later got a 966!. I highly recommend them. Also, on the OSPF V3 virtual link sim, most of the commands: ping, show ip route, or even "show ip ospf virtual-link" and "show ip ospf interface" didn't work. The only way to verify is to ping the IPV6 address from one of the remote routers. Know how to ping IPV6 addresses!

certastic 04-07-2009 @ciscowonder Goodluck tomorrow man! Let us know how it goes @col The first time I took the test I had problems (as others have) with having multiple console windows open. I would type in one window and my output would go in another. This time I only opened one window, entered the commands, closed the window then opened the next one. I have heard of people opening all the windows and switching between them but it seems like everyone has similar problems with this sim. I did look at 3.12 but there was got much more material than what was in 3.10 and it looks like 3.10 is the only official release from P4S. I went through each volume of questions twice, then right before the test I did the "review failed" section on each test. I also reviewed the foundation summaries in the official cisco press book.

ciscowonder 04-08-2009 hi peeps, it went so well followed in certastic footsteps got 966...i guessed we got almost thesame exam. on the ospfv3 sim, always minimize the command window you are not using and click on the computer icon on each router you want to issue commands on to bring it back up....I almost got into trouble with this till i figured it out. I feel anyone that understands the concepts together with the help you get from p4s and sites like digitaltut you should be fine. PLEASE don't rely on p4s only, try and read through the curriculum and have a good understanding and use p4s and digitaltut to prep for exam. I recommend CBT by Jeremy and Cisco CCNP curriculum v5.0 (very good material if you can take your time to go through all the modules and try and use GNS3 for all the labs. Alll da BEST folks

Mindika 04-09-2009 Hi guys, Finally i passed BSCI with 900/1000. All of the questions are coming from the pass 4 sure. I got 3 simulations, EIGRP simlet, 1 drag 7 drop (BGP path selection). Totally there were 61 questions. I used CBT Nuggets, BSCI official exam guide 4th edition, GNS 3, Pass4sure & Digitaltut. This forum is really helpful. If you have pls ask me. The questions are very smiler to the questions that are in this site but the ip address and the company names are different and also they have jumbled the answers as well. I was a frequent visitor to this website.. and today I appeared for the exam and passed with 977/1000. Almost all the questions are from PS4. simulations are eigrp stub, ospf, ospf virtual link. I dont find any console problem with ospf virtual link question as discussed above. One question was about IPV6 configuration in ospf, the actual answers was ....ipV6 unicast routing should be enabled. But it was misspelled as ip unicast routing should be enabled. Also i didn't got any questions regarding show commands... It took 3 weeks for me to prepare for the exam. used almost all the materials said by digitaltut in addition to that following 1) cisco BSCI quick reference sheet by Brent & Denise 2) CCNP Building Scalable Internetworks (BSCI 642-901) Lab Portfolio 3) CCNP BSCI Official Exam Certification Guide, Fourth Edition... Many questions were also changed up a bit, extra answers and some questions reworded a bit, so make sure you have a good grasp of the material before you take the test. Sims i got: same as ones from here eigrpisis redistribution sim eigrp stub sim --i tried summarizing to 10.2.0.0/16 but when i did a show run it showed 10.0.0.0/16 which obviously wouldnt work, so i jsut summarized to 10.0.0.0/8 opsf totally stubby area sim and eigrp simlet -Good luck all

testuser 04-17-2009 hi guys i want to share my experience with my BSCI exam. I read BSCI offic. exam gudie twice and spent two last week with p4s. I have completed BSCI with 900 score of 1000. All Q are coming from p4s.3.12. It was just one 1 that i haven't seen before on p4s. All sim nd simplet are identical like on this site. I will come back to you guys later with updates with Q which are not presented on this site. @digitaltut do yuou have a plan to make a similar site for ISCW and ONT?

ccnp2009 04-17-2009 Hi passed bsci exam today.most questions from pass4sure 3.10 with extra options added in to confuse people.same eigrp simlet lab sim and redistribution questions.only ospf sim was to create an nssa in area 1 which was in pass4sure. did anyone get the eigrp question about what r1 would choose to get to a network with two paths as a choice and all k1 values were 0 except for delay which was at its default value.tricky one???

Can't tell you how much this site helped me in my study and review, Godd bless you my friend. And about the exam, i just need to say that almost all of the quistions are from P4S version 12 and the new quistions posted in the site here. BUT, almost all of them are reworded and the options are not in the same sequence, or even have more wrong options So you have to study well first, and when you see a quistion from here or from P4S, u have to understand the answer, not just memorize it. cuz you will fiind the same quistion in the exam with additional wrong answers, or reworded. but at the end, if u studied well you will figure it out easily I will be posting more posts about the quistions i remember from my exam, and what differences i found at some quistions Note to UNIX: I'm really sorry my friend, i really want to help you but it doesn't make any sence for me to just to copy and paste the quistions and the answers that are already posted on this same site here again, just plese go through the different topic at this site and always look at the explanation for the answers to understand where it came from, belive me this will help you much more than having the quistions and the answers ready . and i wish you all the luck God bless you all my friends, and i will post more posts about theexam very soon InshaAllah cheers :)

MAK 04-19-2009 Thanks digitaltut and Ryaan, and congratulations iterminator As i promised, here are some points on my exam The simulators i got were EIGRP simlt, EIGRP stub and OSPF simulators ( Identical to the ones here) , and the ISIS EIGRP reditrubtion , with different values for the EIGRP delay and ISIS Metrics, and also the EIGRP AS number was different than the example here ( so u have to read the quistions well and perform a show run to get theAS number, and not just memorize the command, and always confirm your answer by "show ip route") Second, I also got almost all of the new quistions that were posted by seprienna, so take care about those ones and looks like i got the same version of the exam that testuser got, as all the quistions he listed from P4S version 12 were in my exam (2,8,9,26,55,58,72,75,79,93,99,100,110,121,139) Just note that most of these quistios are reworded or have additional wrong answers ( for example quistion 9 has 2 more wrong answers in the exam, and quistion 79 has the new choices that were posted by seprienna at the BSCI-multicast page), so just undrstand the answer and never memorize it I got also quistions (30, 37, 87, 192,218 ,219,246,248,260,315,320,322,355,348) I got also got quistion 349, but P4S has the wrong answer for this one, the right answer is c ( configure the remote router as a stub router) those all the quistions i can remember from the exam, but I assure you, all the 61 quistions were from P4S version 12, and the new quistios posted here,not a single new Idea, only alot of quistions are reworded and the options are either in a diffrent order or have more wrong options just as said many time before, undestand the quistion and don't memorize the answer or the order of te answer I will be checking on this great site again every now and then to say hi and see more of you guys who passed this exam as well, and I wish u all the luck God bless you all, and please let me know if there is any...

MAK 04-21-2009 Here are the Different Question numbers 6,12,18,24,30,36,42,48,54,69,67,72,79,84,89,94,98,104,110,116,122,128,139,145,151,157,163,169,175,181,187,193,199,25,208,211,217,225,232,238 Questions 24 and 238 are the EIGRP stub and OSPFv3 Simulators, so don't study those from P4S as the solution is wrong, instead look at the solution provided by digitaltut, this is the right one

If I understood correctly from another post of yours on this site... you are now a CCNP, right? :-) Since you got 1000, Please check my comment on the BGP page regarding Q6. I will take the test later this week and some poorly worded questions, among them BGP-Q6, are driving me nuts :-D Also, if it really was your last exam, please answer these Qs: 1. BSCI is my first for the CCNP cert. what would you recommend as the order of the next three exams if I have no prior knowledge on any of the subjects? 2. Can good BCMSN prep be done only with GNS3? if not, how close/far it gets? Thanks mate :-) p.s. I will look for the other confusingly worded questions and post here again later to get your input.

seprienna 04-21-2009 just finished my bsci just now 890/1000. quite satisfied since i'm having deadline with my uni's report as well. didn't have much time to look at P4S. 99% of the questions were from P4S and this site. there were 61 questions.the sim questions was exactly like MAK's paper ( different eigrp AS number,delay and is-is metric) and most of the questions has different wording but similar meaning. There are a 2 new questions just now;one is on ipv6 and the other 1 is multi-ospf, but i forget the question already. Oh the new questions which i posted up in this site, do have a look and try to understand. Lastly,i would like to thanks digitaltut for this wonderful site.highly recommended site for those who are thinking of taking bsci soon. To MAK , thanks for all the tips and detailed explanation.it really helped me a lot in my revision.

Well... good luck with all THAT :o) Please update here how this exam and prep compared to your BSCI experience. I have no knowledge about MPLS, but think BGP only won't be harder then BSCI. I scored 988/1000 … I studied for a month and used GNS3 for simulations, Jeremy CBT , CISCO BSCI Student Guide V1 and V2 softcopies , and internet search… a lot !!! As expected, all the questions came from P4S V3.12 except for 3 questions which I have never seen before (IPV6 to IPV4 address conversion) and 6to4 tunneling question . Below is what I had (sim) ==> OSPF stub area OSPF IPv6 virtual link (remove the virtual link config in R4 for a full mark) EIGRP ISIS redistribution (Delay =3ms and EIGRP metric= 8 , The EIGRP AS here was 60195 !!! make sure you do a show run first to get this big guy) I did not have the EIGRP Stub and Summ. Sim. (simlet) ==> EIGRP topology No drag & drop believe it or not I would really like to thank the boss digitaltut and everybody shared his experience or made comments here Special thanks goes to MAK Thank you all…… Should I go for QoS or BGP+MPLS next ??? what do you guys think ???? Dhamm 04-23-2009 Guys, This site is the greatest and DT, MAK and u all are the best.. bcoz my CCNA/BCMSN is to expire 24th(tomorrow)... and i had very very limited time...just around 5-10 days because of the other work... i just went through Cisco Partner Elearning, and BSCI training slides... and went half way through Actual test and only last 50 ques of P4S... and went through digitaltut and studied all the labs and questions posted and comments as well.... finally i made BSCI today with 911 with a very very short period... THANKS a lot DT and others for this woderful site.... i got all three labs except EIGRP summerisation... most of the ques here were also there.... cheers and thanks again....

Hendrix 04-23-2009 DONE! I was sure I would slip here or there, but a grade of 1000 probably means I didn't. I'm not happy because I feel like Cisco coerced me to prepare for the exam in a way that will naturalize the non native language (to me) of the "IQ test reading comprehension" phrasing used there. by doing so, because I really learned my ass off in the last months, the exam was unchallenging at best. Based on my 15 years of real world IT work I feel that a big part of what I'm being "tested" is futile at best, in a language that non of my peers and clients use AND... those that do speak English... don't phrase their needs that way! If anything, they try to be clear as a bell ;-) Oh well, at least I can put to sleep my own pondering regarding "BGP Q6" since I had it on the exam and obviously answered correctly:-D In the exam they stated that Localpref exists and its the same... which means that the next break point is indeed AS_PATH as I believed it should be. Other then that, I honestly can't say much. I know the material very well so I never memorized questions/answers in my prep, and in the exam nothing seemed out of the blue to me. in essence, if there were new questions it means they were more of the same... so learn the material, not answers to questions. Hope that helps :-)

I'm sure that P4S v3.12 have needless old questions that it isn't taken in real exam now. Once they release new version, they have added old questions to new questions. The new questions is taken in real exam but, old questions isn't taken in real exam, any more. They have added old questions only to increase question numbers. But, we don't need to study old questions because they aren't lately taken in real exam. P4Sv2.93 have only real exam questions but not v3.10 and v3.12. v3.10 and v3.12 consist of old questions and forged questions. And they don't use real diagram and make their diagram in v3.10 and v3.12. but v2.93 have only real exam questions and real diagrams. The questions of v2.93 is still taken about 60% in real exam. Only 40% new questions was added. v3.12 have 40% new questions. If you see v2.93, you will notice the version have only real exam questions, not forged questions as v3.10 and v3.12. If you don't mind, can you check questions of P4S v3.12 that was taken in real exam? If you check the questions as MAK, we'll study only v2.93 and the new questions that you and anyone will check. If anyone passed BSCI exam, too, check the taken questions as MAK. Sorry for my poor English.

Ryaan 04-26-2009 Tommy Believe it or not, I had the exact same question for OSPF IPv6 virtual link simulation that is in V3.12 and in this great site... same addresses, area IDs , and router IDs. I suggest that you review V3.12 since it has 40% new questions as you stated. It will not take one day to do this since many questions are repeated. I don't really know how cisco exams are provided in the real exam but I noticed that there are different questions for different exams . For example, I did not get the drag & drop questions and the EIGRP Stub areas while other guys had them. It seems like cisco has a bank of questions where they extract questions or exam versions Good Luck Tommy

But, ccnp exam have more questions than 60 and the score for one questions is low.

Core / \ / \ DWS1--DWS2 the configuration is only able been done from DWS1, Core and DSW2 can only use 'show' command (you have to login with enable priv 2 to enter the device: DWS2>enable 2) 1st, We should be configure the topology, make sure that CORE is the root for vlan 20. what i've done was configured te DWS1 (because it's the only device that could be configured) like this: DWS1(config)#spanning-tree vlan 20 priority 64400 (max number) 2nd, We should configure in vlan 30, the traffic from DSW1 to DSW2 using Gig1/0/6, currently used was Gig1/0/5 (connection between DSW1 and DSW2 using Gig1/0/5& Gig1/0/6) I've checked the spanning-tree for vlan 3, and i found that DSW1 was the root bridge and the STP was used Gig1/0/5 in DWS2 because it has lower port number so what i've done in this scenario: DSW1(config)#int gig1/0/5 DSW1(config-if)#spanning-tree vlan 30 port-priority 240 so the Root bridge will advertise that Gig1/0/5 is more prefereable than gig1/0/6 the 3rd and the last question, is like 2nd question, the different was the VLAN. make sure in VLAN 40, traffic using gig1/0/6, the current used was Gig1/0/5 I've check the vlan condition (show spann vlan 40), And I know that DSW1 was nonroot-bridge. So what I've done was configure the port cost, so the DSW1 would use gig1/0/5 as prefereable DSW1(config)#int gig1/0/5 DSW1(config-if)#spanning-tree vlan 40 cost 1

Matt 05-02-2009 MAK Just a question on Q20 of P4S, network 6.0.0.0 was marked with O IA which is Inter-area or learned outside the area of the router. But the answer in P4S is B (Network 6.0.0.0/8 was learned from an OSPF neighbor WITHIN THE AREA). Is it possible that the answer is A? since the router learned an Inter-Area route and the NSSA default route.

muttman 05-11-2009 Failed my BSCI 4 weeks ago with a poor score of 680. Did no P4S or lab tutes before the exam, just CBT nuggets and CiscoPress official exam certification guide. Hardest Cisco exam done so far (done the other 3 CCNP exams). Got the virtual link simlet of death, the two drag and drops shown here and 2 more simlets. Panicked as I took WAY TOO MUCH TIME in the simlets. After my last simlet had like an average of 40 seconds per question for the last 30 questions. Hopefully after going through P4S now and these labs I should be able to pass and then get my CCNP. Cheers digitaltut

The DELAY metric was 4ms and not 100ms. Obviously, if you divide 4ms by 10 you will get a fraction. Since you can't use fractions for metrics I used a delay of 1. I got 100 percent on EIGRP and 100 percent on ISIS as well, so I have to assume that I got it correct. Please let me know your thoughts...

I got 3ms for delay and 36 seed metric for isis in redistribution lab. So i put 300 for delay. For EIGRP authentication question, i didnt agree with P4S so i gave my own answer of ( MD5 authentication is neccessary in EIGRP and it check the source of updates.......)

Method I used: - CCNP CBT Nugget - P4S v3.60 - GNS3 simulator - http://www.digitaltut.com (for BSCI Labs) and http://www.ciscobible.org (for the BCMSN Labs.) - I suggest to understand the lab rather than memorizing and for the other question, just try to understand the concepts. Goodluck 05-18-2009 Is there any trick to be able to switch between console windows in the test lab simulations? How do you shut down one console to be able to bring up the next console on another simulated host? Is it just a matter of clicking over on the other host? Or is there a trick involved? I had some problem with this on CCNA exam, but could telnet over to the other router. With this exam, that might be a problem as connectivity doesn't work in some simulations.

Material i used CBT nuggets by Jermey (Gem of collection especially understanding OSPF , Redistribution and Multicasting) I have a big question mark for jermey related Ipv6 explaination because the video was very weak in term of information and exam orientation. Cisco Press Official guide. (fourth edition) CCNP BSCI -LAB guide Quick reference sheet. (Very Important Summries explained) Actual Test updated version in Jan-09 Pass4sure 2.83. 2.93,3.10, 3.12 This excellent site which help me to understand those questions which i might have thought i just have to memorize like multicasting IP conversions. All questions are from pass4sure (mix & match from all previous four mentioned versions), with atleast 4 - 5 options in minimum. I got 8 options in one question also. Some new weird questions from Ipv6 tunneling commands. Pay special attention to EIGRP, BGP and multicasting. A lot of questions comes from these topics 3 labs (Eigrp stub, OSPF and EIGRP-ISIS redistribution all same as explained in this site. Even the ips are the same. Pay special attention to find out the EIGRP AS. and don;t forget to run copy run start. Also after completing the code, don't forget to verify the lab using appropriate commands like "show ip route. show eigrp topology" One hot spot "EIGRP show all link" same as describe in this site but 6 to 7 options. The tip to nail the show all link question is to remember the interface because many answers are same only the Fa0/0 or Fa0/1 or Fa1/0 is the choices STUDY HARD AND DON;T JUST RELY ON PASS4SURE WISH U GOOD LUCK WHO ARE APPEARING IN BSCI EXAM

Kamran Ahmed 06-03-2009 Dear All I think you guys have to concentrate more on the topics rather rely only on Pass4sure. Believe me if you do the topics thorougly, you won;t feel any problem. I have got few IPv6, EIGRP and multicast questions that is not listed in Pass4sure but because i read the topic thoroughly i manage to get the perfect score. And there is another aspect that only 25 more questions are added. May be they are all repeat questions like when 3.12 releases it adds 3 more question and it is the same EIGRP simlet. My suggestions is to study BSCI Official exam guide v 4 and nail the DO i Know already Quiz and Q & A sections. Most of the questions in Pass4sure also adapted from these sections.

bigmankonboy 06-09-2009 Yes.I passed the composite on June 4th with only 892.There are two labs that didn't save.The Radius lab and the STP lab (the one with g1/0/5)and (g/1/0/6).The exam was reset by the test proctor and same thing happened.I t says this command is not implemented. Let me know if you have any particular questions.

farhan 06-10-2009 @beli this version is 3.12 it says 3.10 updated on 21-jan-2009...n e ways i passed bsci today and got perfect 1000 all questions were from p4s 3.10 updated on 21-jan except 3 question which were also easy if u have read book or listen cbts....3 lab redist,eigrp stub and ospf stubby area 1 simlet of eigrp and 3 drag and drop questions.. cheers....

victor 06-11-2009 in a very well known sim about redistributing isis into eigrp and vice versa (in my book it's QUESTION NO: 396 - ISIS EIGRP Redistribution Sim) there is a part about redistribute connected. My question is the following: in the real exam is it sufficient to write just it or you need to do redistribute connected level-1? I'm lab-ing this scenario and the connected routes show up as i L2. The task if I'm not mistaken is to redistribute everything into Level1. Thank you.

Seb 06-12-2009 At first I used P4S 3.10. Later I found version 3.12 but they were hanging after Q 154 so I resign from them. A few days ago I found P4S 642-901v6.81 (link you can find on www.digitaltut.ie). There is a lot of new questions when compare to 3.10. Honestly I think that's the best version for exam preparation. All simulations are on this website but Personally I would like to advice you to do as much lab as you can. It give you the best practice. After this it is much easier to answer question as well.

Lyle 06-12-2009 For those people having problems with 3.12, did it ever occur to you to just go into the review marked and click one problem past where it freezes lol dummies. My 3.12 freezes at 154 non practice exam, so I just clicked on review marked and clicked on 155 and it worked fine all the way to the end q356. Now, don't you feel silly ?

Bala 06-15-2009 @Sheetal hi sheetal... i passed iscw exam today.. got 875... pppoe,tacacs,gre tunnel, all SDMs.... i got around 9 to 10 new questions.. but they were easy... in tacacs sim after configuring R1, we have to go to R2 and SSH.. but was not able to login. they have given the wrong password... same thing happened to my friend also, he took on 12th... lots and lots of drag and drops...
